VFX Project 6 - Explosions

Had fun with this one, too. Only complaints are the background (it changes, though it's not outstanding due to all the action that's going on) and the depth of the explosion (I only used two layers; I could have used a third behind the chair).

VFX Project #5 - Green Screen + Video Game

Another that didn't turn out so well. Ran into a lot of difficulties with this one...need to try even harder next time, I guess.

VFX Project #1 - Substitution

Did this a little backwards (hint: this will continue into the future), here is my first VFX project.

Scott Pilgrim CG & effects

While I'm not a fan of Scott Pilgrim and the effects seem pretty cheesy, this is definitely an interesting video:

Maybe we should count the number of times he says "CG".

Also, download my game! It was just released today. :) http://effelant.webs.com

VFX Project #3 - Action Scene

Another one that I had a lot of fun with. It looks a little off, but I spent enough time on it...

This time I learned the strength of multiple takes. As shoddy as it looks, it would've been 50 times worse if I hadn't filmed it 10 times.

No, I didn't actually punch my mom. I love my mom.

VFX Project #2 - Doubles

The goal of this assignment was to create a scene with at least two people in it while using only one actor.

Created using a portable flip camera; edited in Adobe After Effects CS4.

I had a lot of fun with this one. One major thing I learned was definitely to take multiple shots and to time things better -- there were many screw-ups that, while thankfully covered up via misdirection, were not very professional at all (the most major immediately-noticeable one is at the end, where my finger & arm go WAY too far).

The Century of Self

Kind of off-beat and of little relevance to the class, but I thought for the first post here it totally made sense.

If you have a spare 4 hours (or one hour a day for four days!) watch it. May not be relevant to the class, but it's totally relevant to whatever you want to do with your life, I guarantee it.
